DaVonna Rena Walker

November 8, 1975 — April 11, 2018

Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” Revelation 14:13

DaVonna Rena Kimble Walker was born on November 28, 1975 at Trinity Hospital in Dodge City, Kansas to Rose Kimble and Al Trent Pierce.
She attended Dodge City School in Kansas and was always eager to learn. She was a free spirit who loved people and made friends easily. With a giving and compassionate heart for others, she often helped others when she needed help herself. She had a love for God and family, which always came first.

DaVonna shared her love in the several communities where she lived. She finally settled in Prescott, Arkansas where she met and married James Walker. Their union was blessed with two sons. DaVonna loved to garden and work in her yard. Her home was often the place for family and friend’s gatherings. She enjoyed cooking and posting her tasty meals on Facebook.

On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, the Lord closed her eyes and granted her rest. For 42 years she lived a life that had its own purpose. Though we will miss her smiling presence, we will never forget her love. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Edna Hart and her paternal grandparents, Freddie and Georgia Pierce.

Her shining light and her beautiful smile will be forever missed by her four children: Sadie Maxine Kimble, Jorghialyn Kimble, Wesley Walker and Anthony Walker; a grandson, Kamdyn Michael Meldream; her mother, Rose Kimble and father, Al Pierce; her siblings, Michelle Kimble, Edwinna Kimble, Ebony Roberts, Rashad Roberts, Shena Pittman, Andrea Pittman, Altrent Pierce, Sr., Altrent Pierce, Jr., Muriel Flanorid, Sandra Garcia, James Garcia, Chloe Norwood, Maurice Ross and Bobbie Conley. She also leaves her companion of 7 years Curtis Brown; Joysland Buford, whom she loved as a mother; her bonus sisters, Maxine Becks, Angie Butler, Janice Brown, Treina Moss, Hayley Moss, Adrianna Woodbury and Brandy Williams; the Walker family including her mother-in-law, Myrtle Walker, two sisters-in-law, Minnie Owen and Margie Haynie; two brothers-in-law, James Walker and Charles Walker. She also leaves several aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Public visitation will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Ward Chapel A.M.E Church in Prescott, Arkansas 1:00 a.m. with Rev. Wallace Ingram, eulogist. Interment will be at DeAnn Cemetery.

It’s certainly true we bring nothing into this world and take nothing when we pass, but how we treat our fellow man is the only things that lasts. In the hearts of those whose lives we touch from our beginnings to our end, is the only mark we leave on earth to leave the paths we have been. So brothers and sisters, plan your destiny well, because what you leave in the hearts of others will let us know your legacy is well.
