Denise Ann Brown Cordova was born in Redwood City, California on May 11, 1965, to J. D. and Patricia Brown. She was a 1983, graduate of Milpitas High School in Milpitas, California. She started her career as an administrative assistant at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto in 1984.
She had her first child Crystal on April 17, 1984, and her second, Travino on May 19, 1985. In the winter of 1992, she took a position in Corvallis, Oregon with hopes of giving her children a better future connected with nature.
Denise changed careers in 2002, and earned her commercial truck driver’s license to drive across the country. In 2005, she stopped driving for Swift in order to care for her mother in California.
After her mother’s death she moved to Arkansas where she had a small farm with chickens, goats and cows. She also worked at Wal-Mart and lastly, Henderson State University. She was a hunter and liked shooting rifles and bows. She was very spiritual, but not so religious. She loved to travel and spent time traveling through Europe. She believed in putting other people’s needs above her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Patricia Edmondson Brown.
