Eddie Ray Goldsby

March 3, 1947 — January 11, 2019

Eddie Ray Goldsby was born on March 3, 1947 at the home of his parents on Route 1 Box 10 in Gurdon, Arkansas. He attended Bell Elementary and Bell High School where he graduated in the top 10 of the Class of 1965.

He was very intelligent and made friend easily. He was very athletic and was the greatest boxer in his 11th and 12th grade years. He possessed a calm demeanor and his smile was contagious. He was a member of the Les Dame Social Club having performed in many stage plays and was by all account a good actor.

After graduating from high school, he enrolled at Arkansas AM&N College, now UAPB in September of 1965. While there he was a member of the “Royal Knights” and earned a BSE degree in business education in June 1969. Immediately after graduation he moved to Detroit, Michigan to pursue a career with K-Mart Stores. He then went on to work for General Motors in the Cadillac Division. He retired after 30 years of service as a Purchasing Agent for Cadillac.

He would often return home to visit his parents, other family members and friends. Eddie passed on January 11, 2019 at his home in Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, JC Goldsby (November 2000) and Helen Goldsby (February 2000) and a sister, Flossie Mae Goldsby (July 1955).

He leaves to cherish his sister, Carolyn (Rodney) Hill of Gurdon, Arkansas and numerous friends.
