Edward Charles Wesson, Jr.

November 23, 1936 — May 18, 2022

Edward Charles Wesson, Jr., was born November 23, 1936, in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Edward Wesson, Sr., and Alma Beavers Wesson. He went to be with the Lord on May 18, 2022.

He was a 1955 graduate of Langston High School. Ed’s quick wit made him a unique person. His love of books took him to other countries through his mind travels while reading. Interest in mathematics, sports cars, guns, finances. His love for books and reading had his mind constantly expanding and changing.

Ed possessed numerous talents. His career expanded over many areas of interest. Edward worked as a customs agent at the San Francisco Airport, a postal clerk, and a social worker in the Bay Area. His travels took him across many continents and countries such as Europe, Africa, Asia, and Canada.

Edward and Bobbie were high school sweethearts. After their graduation they each went their separate ways and married other people. Like Ed would say, “Life goes on.” It was many years later that Ed and Bobbie reconnected at a class reunion. Seeing each other rekindled an old friendship, traveling back and forth from San Francisco to Hot Springs. A couple of years after their reacquaintance, they decided to get married in January 1993. A new family was formed, The Wesson and Snowden Family. They shared sixteen years. He would often reminisce about the summer he and Bobbie were the Emcees at the Langston High School Class Reunion Banquet in 2007. He thoroughly enjoyed those fond memories.

On May 18, 2022, Ed passed from this life. He was preceded in death by his beloved Bobbie.

Edward leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Charles Wesson of Los Angeles, CA, and Jimmy Wesson of Hot Springs, AR; four stepchildren, Sherrie (George) Mays of North Little Rock, AR, D.
