Ella Gardena Burton was born in Prescott, Arkansas on November 39, 1943 to Will and Helen Burton. She was raised in a Christian home and carried those values with her throughout her life. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Gurdon, Arkansas. Ella graduated from Maisdale High School in Chicago, Illinois. Ella lived in Chicago, Illinois for many years; she retired from Brach’s Candy Company after 37 years . After retirement, to the delight of her family she later moved to Gurdon, Arkansas. Ella was passionate about politics and worked on many of the local politician’s campaigns while living in Chicago. One of her greatest memories was working on the campaign of a young man who was running for Senate, Barack Obama. He would later become President Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States. Ella was pre-deceased by her parents Will and Helen Burton and a her brother, Winfred Burton, Sr. Ella leaves to cherish her memories a son Winfred (Samantha) Burton of Gurdon; three grandchildren T’Nesha Burton, Kanei Russey, and Quartez Burton of Gurdon, Arkansas; three great grandchildren; and a sister Jerine Hatley of Gurdon, Arkansas. She also leave a caravan of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. A Celebration Of Her Life will be shared on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Kingdom Authority Christian Ministry, Rev. Quinton Radford, Pastor.
