Eric DeWayne “Wayne” Wells made his entrance into the world on April 19, 1965 in Curtis, Arkansas, to John Henry and Melrose McClure Pennington Wells. He grew up, as he lived life, surrounded by love of family, friends, and associates. He relocated to Plano, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Mary Victoria Joseph and they united in marriage May 28, 2004. Wayne passed into eternity at Life Care Hospital of North Texas in Carrollton, Texas January 19, 2025.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother and father, maternal grandparents Frank and Christene McClure, paternal grandparents Henry and Dora Wells, siblings Levon Pennington, Joyce Evon Pennington Giles, and Johnnie Ray Wells. He graduated from Arkadelphia High School in 1983 where he excelled in football, his mother being his greatest fan and attended every game. She was thrilled to tell that he had sacked the quarterback of an opposing team “5 times” during one of his games. Wayne also loved old cars, the Blues and Rap music, spending time with family, and interacting with the family dog, “Tommy.”
While living in Texas, he was employed by Omnitracs, where he was an equipment specialist and GPS tracker, and telecommunications. Wayne truly had a “gift of gab,” and telecommunications was the perfect employment for him.
He was a member of Mt. Friendship Baptist Church of Curtis, Arkansas before moving to Texas, where he united with One Community Church in Plano, and Sunset United Methodist Church in Pasadena, Texas.
Wayne leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mary Victoria, his children, Erika Wells (Edwin) Limbrick, Riquele Wells, Erick Frank Thomas Wells, Sinil Murlidharan, Rosy Murlidharan, Roselin Murlidharan; grandchildren Nevaeh Wells Limbrick, Ethan Barrett, Caleb Wells, twins Karson and Kyson Limbrick, Alma Smith, Mayank Murlidharan, and Maniva Murlidharan; siblings, Eddie (Deborah) Pennington Jr. of Lansing, MI, Linda Pennington (Richard) Black of Hot Springs Village, AR, Marilyn Wells of Lansing, MI, James (Savada) Wells of Lansing, MI, Tommy Wells of Redgranite, WI, Shelia Wells of Arkadelphia, AR, Margo Wells (Jamie) Kilgore of Lansing, MI and Felicia Wells of Bryant, AR.
