Evelyn Gaye Flannigan, 65, of Camden, AR, died August 13, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock. She was born February 19, 1955 in Camden to Ernest Rayford and Ouida Mae Flannigan. She was a lifelong home keeper and care taker raising many of her nieces and nephews while taking care of her beloved mother. She was baptized at Whitest Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at a young age where she was a devoted usher and Sunday School teacher until becoming ill. She was known as “Men” by her siblings and “Aunt Skoota” by the children she looked after. Evelyn had a great sense of humor, was selfless, faithful and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an older brother, James Rayford and a sister in law, Wanda Flannigan.
She is survived by two sisters, Brenda Ames and Janet Rayford, both of Camden; three brothers Mitch Rayford, Fredrick Flannigan (Sandra) and Cedric Flannigan, all of Camden; two nieces Jessica Green (Melvin) of Conway and Jasmine Ames of Little Rock; four nephews Evan Pritchett (Michelle) of Camden, Brandun Flannigan (Marguerite) of Pine Bluff, Patric Flannigan of Camden and Demetrius Moore of Camden; close relative Cathrine Burnell; special niece Harmony Hawkins; special nephews Thomas and Shawn McGowan; four great nieces, one great-great niece; one great-great nephew and a host of close cousins and close friends.

Pallbearers will be Evan Pritchett, Jackie Flannigan Jr., Brandun Flannigan, Larry Johnson, Patric Flannigan and Thomas McGowan. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Flannigan, Cedric Flannigan, Mitch Rayford Shawn McGowan and the Whitest Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Usher Board.
Public visitation will from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Williams Funeral Home Van Buren. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden, Arkansas with Rev. Michael J. Wilson, officiating.
