Freddie Mae Walton-Banks, 73 of Brinkley, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at her home.

Freddie was born February 15, 1949, in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Fred Walton and Mathis T. Williams-Walton.

Freddie was a member of Mount of Olive Ministries in Brinkley for almost 50 years, where she served as Chief Usher and as a member of the Kitchen Committee. She was formerly a member of New Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Cotton Plant (Dark Corner Community).

Freddie received her education from the Mount Pleasant School and the Brinkley Public Schools (Marian Anderson High School).

Freddie Mae was employed by the Brinkley Public Schools for more than 40 plus years before retiring. She also held other previous positions throughout the community: Flames Restaurant, Van Heusen Shirt Factory, and Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Her husband, James E. Banks, Jr., her son Glynn E. Banks, Sr., her great-grandson, Arlus M. Banks, Jr., and her parents, Fred Walton and Mathis T. Walton all preceded Freddie Mae in death.

Survivors are: five children, Lesa (Steven) Holloway of Chicago, IL; Patricia (Dwight) Shelton and Anthony Banks, both of Brinkley, AR; Arlus (Kathy) Banks of Jonesboro, AR; and Kanice Banks of West Memphis, AR; nine grandchildren, Steven, Arlus, Michael, Glynn Jr., Sydny, Katreese, Tiana, Triston and Christian, and eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Diana) Walton of Brinkley, AR; and Tom (Paulette) Walton of West Memphis, AR; five sisters, Mary Ann Reese of Kansas City, MO, Mathetta Walton of Cleveland, OH, Verniece Nunn of Little Rock, AR, Mable James of Brinkley, AR, and Verlean Walton-Brooks of Dallas, TX; a sister in law Doris Banks of Chicago, IL; and a host of other relatives and friends survive her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mount of Olive Ministries, 1200 North Main Street Extended in Brinkley, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Mount of Olive Ministries in Brinkley with Reverend Oscar M. Conyears, officiating. Interment will be at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Brinkley by Williams Funeral Home of Arkadelphia with CJ Williams, LFDIC.

Pallbearers will be Terrie Camper, Albert Smith, Derrick Smith, Keith Halliburton, William Waggle Sr., Ferguson Hill, Gary McGoy, and Eric Terrell.
