FELTON LAMAR GRAY

(January 7, 1968 -17 February 2021)

The bible reads in I Thessalonians 5:18

"In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

Felton Gray was born January 7, 1968 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Frank and Aline Gray. He was born and raised in Arkansas where he attended Arkadelphia High School and joined the Military (US Army) shortly after graduation.  He was a very proud veteran who served his country for 8 years.  Upon leaving military service he moved to Seattle, WA and shortly afterwards to Portland, OR where decided to settle down and live life to the fullest.

He developed an illness after serving in the Gulf War, which led to him being a disabled Veteran. He passed away after a brave battle with his illness and died peacefully at home surrounded by a loving family.  He was a loving Son, Father, Husband, Brother, Uncle and friend to many.

Many lives were brighter and vastly enriched because of Felton Gray.

His legacy of family togetherness, peace and love will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and friends. Felton understood the significance of parental involvement in the education and nurturing of his children and wanted them to have and live their best life.  He was very active in making sure they understood the importance of an education and did his best to ensure they received it if they wanted to pursue it.

On October 25, 1999, Kasey married Felton Gray and they shared a beautiful life together. He possessed a friendly kind spirit and once he befriended you, he would do anything for you.  He made friends across all races and genders, and inspired and tried to help everyone who crossed his path.

Felton had many interest and talents.  He loved to go on deep sea fishing trips with friends and close family members, hanging out with his brothers and grandkids in Arkansas, watching NFL/College football games and chastising his family members cheering for the opposing team. He loved to make his grand kids, nieces and nephews smile on Holidays by sending them their most wanted gifts as a surprise.  His favorite thing to say to his daughter Kiara was “Good Morning Sunshine” in hopes of making her day brighter.  He loved listening to a variety of music and boasting on his cooking skills when he cooked on special occasions.  He had a love for antique cars and taking drives to the beach with his wife and friends showing off his grand prize.

On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, he passed into the Lord’s embrace. His parents Frank Gray, Aline Culp and his sister Pamela L. Hill preceded him in death.

He leaves a legacy of love and his memories will be cherished by his Wife, Kasey Gray of Portland, OR; his children Ni’co L. Gray and Fallen Gray of Dallas, TX; JJ Taylor of Portland, OR and Kiara Gray of Maumelle, AR. Four Grand Children: Johnny Lucas;  Dalton L.
