As we retrace the footprints of Fredrick Otis Johnson, we can only give thanks for the lives he touched and enriched along life’s journey. A kind and loving man, Fredrick was blessed to enjoy many of God’s blessings as a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin and a true friend.
On September 20, 1963, Algie Otis and Earnestine Johnson celebrated the birth of their first son they named Fredrick Otis. At an early age he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, and became a member of Mount Olive AME Church in Dalark. Fredrick Otis was simply known to his family and friends as “Fred”. Fred possessed a kind and generous spirit, a loving smile, and a desire to live life to the fullest. Fred loved spending quality time with his family and close friends, which was the highlight of his life. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Although Fred’s life seems too short to many, those who were touched by him understood that the quality if his existence for exceeded the quantity of time spent here on earth.
On Sunday, September 2, 2018, Fred traded time for eternity and went from labor to reward.
Those waiting his arrival are his parents, Algie Otis and Earnestine Johnson. Because love is far greater then death Fred departs this earth in body only. His gentle smile lives on in memories, minds and hearts of his siblings: Carolyn Thomas, Shelia Hughes, Ramona Hamlin, Brad (Amy) Johnson all of Arkadelphia; a host of nieces and nephews; his extended McClanahan Family to cherish his life, relatives, countless friends and the Mt. Olive AME Church family.
