Gennie Ella Haynie was born into this life on August 20, 1958 in Bluff City, Arkansas to the union of Finis Haynie and Macy Ella Sims Haynie. She accepted Christ at a young age. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Bluff City, Arkansas and attended McRae High School.
Gennie enjoyed listening to blues and gospel music. She loved to dance and spend time with her grandchildren. She was the proud mother of five children and loved them dearly.
On Tuesday, September 11, 2018 she left this world of time to live forever in eternity. Her strong spirit will be missed by many. Her passing reminds us that life is uncertain, but death is sure. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Finis Lee Haynie, Lee Artis Haynie, and Artis Lee Haynie; two sisters, Arlean Sorrells and Bertha Martin.
Because love is greater than death, she will be forever cherished by her children, Christy Haynie of El Dorado, AR, Jeania (Edward) Glenn of Prescott, AR, Andrea Haynie of Prescott, AR, Paul W. Haynie of Prescott, AR and Kisha Haynie of Prescott, AR: two sisters, Clara (Earnest) Purifoy of Prescott, AR, and Bertha Mae Sorrells of Prescott, AR; a special friend, Melvin Malone of Prescott, AR; eight grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Celebration services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. John Baptist Church in Bluff City, Arkansas. Rev. Wallace Ingram will render words of comfort. The committal service and final resting place will be in St. John Cemetery in Bluff City, Arkansas.
