Ike Tripp Sr., 74 of Augusta, passed away on Monday evening, August 8 at Unity Health White County Medical Center in Searcy.
Ike was born February 28, 1948 in Fitzhugh, Arkansas to Jack Tripp and Cercy Lee Rowe-Tripp.
Ike received his education from the Augusta Public School System. He was a 1967 graduate of Carver High School in Augusta. He was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Revels, Arkansas, where he was a very active member.
Ike was employed by Matthews Manufacturing in Searcy for many years until his health began to fail in the early 2000’s. He was formerly employed by Nibco in Augusta.
Ike was united in holy matrimony to Barbara Ann Gibbs on April 24, 1967. To this union three sons were born.
His parents: Jack and Cercy Lee Tripp; his granddaughter Ashley Gillespie Tripp; two brothers: Freddie Tripp and Howard Tripp; seven sisters: Annie L. Hendrix, Ann Thompkins, Lois Tripp, Henri Mae Walker, Nelverna Henry, Brenda Lawrence and Emma Lawrence all preceded Ike in death.
Survivors are: his wife of 55 years Barbara Ann Gibbs-Tripp of Augusta, AR; four sons: Robert (Adrian) Tripp of Searcy, AR; Ike (Debra) Tripp Jr. of Searcy, AR; Eric (Sheree) Tripp pf Conway, AR; and Patrick (Erica) Germany of Columbia, MO; fifteen grandchildren: Shala Neal Tripp, Camisha Tripp, Eric Tripp Jr., Alonzo Tripp, Tiazhane’ Tripp, Jeremiah Germany, Haley Tripp Jaxson Tripp, Jaceton Tripp, Jayden Duffy, Deunta Lockhart Jr., Ah’jrea Duffy, Mariah Malone and Zariah Malone; nine great grandchildren, three sister: Julia Smith of Las Vegas, NV; Emma Manning of Kansas City, MO; and Freda Lolles of Jacksonville, FL; a sister in law Jennifer Rowe of Augusta, AR; special brothers: Carl Chapple and Pastor Archie Roark; special lifelong friends: Lonnie Green, Richard White, Otis Smith, Luther J. Neal Sr., T.J. Biggers and Reverend Calvon Wright.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20 at 2:30 PM at Holy Ghost Academy Church of God in Christ, 927 South 4th Street in Augusta with Reverend Archie Roark officiating. Interment will take place at New Quiet Cemetery in Augusta. C.J. Williams LFDIC.
Pallbearers are: Rufus White Jr., Otis Gipson, Jimmy Jackson Jr., Charale Tripp, Terrence Decker, Bobby Johnson Jr., Billy Ray Johnson Sr., Keaton Chapple, Kevin Whitney and Howard Tripp Jr.
