Jackqueline E. Jones-Turner

April 4, 1972 — March 2, 2025

Camden

A beautiful flower was picked from this Earth and chosen to join God’s ever growing beautiful garden. Jackqueline Elaine Jones-Turner entered Heavens gates greeted by those loved ones she has longed to see on March 2, 2025 at Ouachita County Medical Center.

Jackqueline Jones-Turner, affectionately known as Jackie, was born to Nora L. Jones-Celestine and James A. Fort on April 4, 1972 in Camden, AR. She was the oldest child and only daughter to both of her parents. Jackie united with the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church at a young age under the leadership of the late Pastor Jacob H. Hayes Jr. She was a faithful member and was a member of the Voices of Praise and also served as a youth leader. The children in the youth department loved Ms. Jackie because they could always count on her to stop by “Lee Chinaman” before church and have a purse full of candy. She remained a member until her passing under the leadership of Rev. Rodney Frazier.

Jackie graduated from Camden High School (behold the black and gold!) in 1990. In June of 1989, she gave birth to her oldest daughter, the late Sis. Leigh-Charde Jones. In December of 1991, she gave birth to her second daughter Lauren Charmaine Flint and in September of 1994, she gave birth to her baby girl Launa Chante’ Radford. Jackie navigated life as a single mother with three children, two with disabilities, after high school and showed her resilience as a mother and undying love for her girls! After getting all of her girls through elementary, Jackie began navigating the work force working at Popeye’s, Wal-Mart, McDonald’s, My Story Child Development Center, PALCO, and Public Partnerships until her health failed her. She became affectionately known as “Ms. Jackie” at all of her places of employment and played the role of a second mother to many young ladies that she worked with. Although she did not have any biological grandchildren, she was blessed to become a “GiGi” to her surrogate daughter Cerria Bradford’s children: Deyton, Dalton, and Caylee “Catt”.

She met the love of her life Earl Lee Turner Jr. in 2017 and they united in matrimony on April 4, 2020 until death separated them on March 2, 2025. They both held close to their vows, “In sickness and in health” and even in the rough times, stayed by each other’s side.

Jackie was the life of the party, the favorite cousin, the storyteller, the jokester, just an all-around sweet soul. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her girls, baking, and online shopping. She loved children and babies, and she was called her “Mother Love” because of her love for kids. Any child that came to her house, left with a goodie bag whether it was snack cakes, candy, or any little trinket she could find.

Jackie was preceded in her death by her oldest daughter, Leigh-Charde’ Jones “Missy”, her bonus father Paul Allen Celestine, her maternal grandmother Earnestine Scott Carroll, paternal grandmother Missionary Moester Fort. Her maternal grandfathers Roosevelt Owens and Tollie Carroll Sr. Her paternal grandfather Superintendent Jim Fort. Her aunt Maryester Williams. Her uncles Eddie Lee Jones, Henry Lee Jones, and Min. Jerome Carroll.

Jackie leaves an abundance of love and memories to her husband Earl Lee Turner Jr., her daughters Lauren Charmaine Flint and Launa Chante’ Radford, both of Camden, AR. Her mother Psalmist Nora L. Jones-Celestine of Pine Bluff, AR. Her father James A. Fort and bonus mom Diane Fort of Texarkana, TX. Two brothers, Jean-Paul Celestine of Pine Bluff, AR and Jeremy Fort of Houston, TX. Her nieces and nephew; Nor’Leshia “Cookie” (Conway), Hayden (Pine Bluff), JaLeigha (Arkadelphia), Addison (Baton Rouge, LA). Her uncles Timothy Carroll (Camden), Tollie Carroll Jr. (Camden), Cleophas Fort (California), Jimmie Fort (California), Joe Fort (Camden), and aunt Missionary Pearlene Fort Garrard (Camden). Her great aunts and uncles whom she held near and dear to her heart Christine and Lillie Mae Scott (Cleveland, OH), Rev. James C. Scott (Camden, AR), Alex Scott (Kansas City, MO), and Elzie Scott (Camden, AR). Her best friend Laura Torrence-Heard and goddaughter Emaria Walker (both of Camden) and two special friends Jeff and Ulrica Hawkins. Jackie also leaves behind a host of cousins, some who refer to her as “Aunt Jackie”, friends, her Trackside community, and other loved ones to cherish her memory.
