On September 5, 2024, the world lost a bright light with the passing of Jeremiah Cebastian Maglero, a beloved son, brother, father, project manager, athlete, and friend. Born on July 14, 1990, in Hot Springs, AR, Jeremiah lived his 34 years with passion, purpose, and a deep love for those around him. His passing in Bedford, TX leaves a profound void, but his legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched.
Jeremiah’s early years were marked by excellence in both academics and athletics. A proud 2008 graduate of Hot Springs High School, he became known for his talents in football, baseball and as a Golden Gloves boxer. As a standout running back for the Hot Springs Trojans, his leadership and athleticism led the team to many victories, but it was his sportsmanship and team spirit that truly set him apart. Off the field, Jeremiah was equally dedicated to his community, volunteering alongside his family to help those less fortunate—a reflection of his generous and compassionate heart.
After completing his education, earning an associate’s degree, Jeremiah forged a successful career as a project manager and diver with Penhall Company, where his expertise and work ethic garnered respect from colleagues and clients alike. His entrepreneurial spirit soon led him to establish his own company, WILLJONES Construction Services Inc., where his commitment to excellence continued to shine. Jeremiah left a lasting impact in the construction industry, as he brought integrity, precision, and creativity to every project he undertook.
Those who knew Jeremiah will always remember his infectious sense of humor, magnetic personality, and innate ability to bring people together. His friendships transcended boundaries, drawing people from all walks of life. With an easy laugh and a welcoming smile, Jeremiah was often the center of attention at gatherings, lifting spirits and creating lasting memories. His warmth and sincerity left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Jeremiah is survived by his loving mother, Cora Maglero Jones of Hot Springs, AR; his father, Craig Francis of Virginia Beach, VA; his devoted brother, Nathan C. Jones Jr. of Grand Prairie, TX; his sister, Nichole C. Jones Covell (Talon) of Dawson, GA; and his cherished brother by heart, Lee Wesley Foote Jr. of Hot Springs, AR. He is also remembered by his bonus father, Nathan Jones of Gurdon, AR. He was a doting father to his precious children—Kylie R. Maglero of Hot Springs, AR; Sydney A. Maglero and Sebastian A. Maglero of Malvern, AR; Isaiah J. Flowers of Nebraska; and Noah L. Maglero of Bedford, TX., along with aunts, uncles, extended family, and countless friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
As we mourn the loss of Jeremiah, we also take solace in the joy and laughter he brought into our lives. His spirit will continue to live on through the fond memories and treasured moments we shared with him.
A public viewing to honor and celebrate Jeremiah's life will be held on September 14, 2024, from noon to 1:45 p.m. at St. Mark Baptist Church in Hot Springs. A service will follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Marilyn N. Lightner-Briggs. The burial will take place at Piney Grove Cemetery, where we will lay to rest a soul that will never be forgotten.
As we gather to pay our respects and remember the remarkable man Jeremiah was—a loving father, a loyal friend, and a shining example of strength, determination, and kindness. Though his earthly journey has ended, Jeremiah’s memory will remain with us always, carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:11-14).
May Jeremiah rest in peace, and may his life continue to inspire and uplift those he leaves behind.
