John E. Shugart

John E. Shugart was born on July 12, 1946 to Theadocia Helen Hill Walker and Walter Shugart in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. John was a 1964 graduate of Peake High School and worked for Bill Waddell a housing developer for over 20 years.

John was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching wrestling and listening to his favorite artist Elvis Presley. He found a source of enjoyment being in the company of family and friends. He lived the life he loved, and loved the life he lived.

He passed from this life on Monday, November 30, 2020 at his home in Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Shugart and his mother, Theadocia Walker. John leaves a brother, Raymond Jackson of Detroit, MI; special friends, Marietta Waddell Tucker and Danny Tucker, Lesyer Gills and Joyce Bell; nieces, nephews, several cousins and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Perry, Robert White, Jr., Rocky Ray Hughes, Issac Samuel Perry, Christopher Earnest Gray and Rogie Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Davis, Leroy Sims, Lester Gills and Robert James Morgan.
