Johnny Ray Wells was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 15, 1952, to John Henry and Melrose Wells, and departed this earthly life on December 13, 2019. He lived a simple, fun-loving life. He loved sports, and he loved his music. He loved to get sharp, especially on a Friday night.He gave his life to Christ at an early age at Mount Friendship Baptist Church in Curtis, Arkansas. After attending Arkadelphia High School in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, he found gainful employment with International Paper. Johnny married the love of his life Bennie Marie House then moved to Lansing, Michigan where he worked for the Board of Water and Light for many yearrs. Preceding him in death are his mother and father, grandmothers and grandfathers, a brother Levon Pennington and sister Joyce Evon Pennington Giles. His memory will live on in the hearts of his son Benjamin Ray Wells; stepson Steven McClure; his brothers Eddie (Deborah) Pennington Jr. and James (Savada) Wells of Lansing, Michigan, Tommy Wells of Red Granite, Wisconsin and Eric (Mary Victoria) Wells of Allen, Texas; his sisters Linda (Richard) Black of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Marilyn Wells of Lansing, Michigan, Shelia Wells of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Margo (Jamie) Kilgore of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Felicia Wells of Alexander, Arkansas; very special friend and brother-in-law Lee House; very dear friend Roosevelt “Chuck” Davis, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
