On June 17,1965, Clarice Henderson and the late Richard Berry welcomed the birth of their first daughter, Karen Louise Berry.
Karen accepted Christ at a young age and was united with Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she served as a cook in the kitchen. She attended Sparkman High School where she also worked some time as a janitor.
Karen was a loving, caring, fun individual that everyone wants to be around. She loved to spend time with the love of life, her husband of 21 years James Bivens; mostly hanging with her bestie her sister, Lisa Reedy, and good friend Tonya Payden. She touched many lives either with her cooking or conversation, but mainly just by being herself. She enjoyed sitting on the back porch listening to music, spending the summers with her grandkids and going to the dollar store.
On October 7, 2020, the Lord saw fit to relieve her from the trials of this world. She is preceded in transition by her father, Richard Berry; her grandmother, Gevordia Thrower; her grandmother, Tennie Ollison and her daughter, Mikesha Berry.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, James Bivens; her mother Clarice (Jimmy) Henderson; four daughters, Tennie (Jeffery) Hughes, Stephanie (Mark) Buggs all of Sparkman, Tonya Berry of Malvern, and Jessica (Keith) Ellison of Fordyce; three sons, Jeffery (Michelle) Berry of Arkadelphia, John Berry, Gary Berry both of Sparkman and a bonus daughter, Tamika (Bryson) Mitchell of Malvern. She also leaves sixteen grandchildren, three sisters, Lisa (Vernon) Reedy of Sparkman, Tomica Berry of Houston TX, and Pamela Rogers of Iowa City; eight brothers, Bruce (Carolyn) Berry, Richard Berry Jr., all of Bearden, AR., Tyron Berry of El Paso, TX, Dion (Toni) Berry, Rodney Berry, Michael Berry all of Houston, TX, Tyron Sanders Berry and Bernard Berry both of Milwaukee, as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Juniel, eulogist.
