Katina “Tina” Nichole Brown received her healing from the tribulations of this world on Thursday, September 28, 2023. Born October 21, 1984, to Wesley Moore and Teresa Moore in Las Vegas, Nevada, she was also sheltered in love by dedicated grandparents James and Charlene Nelson in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Nurtured with honorable values, Tina gave her life to Christ at Davis Temple Church of God in Christ at the age of 10 and was a devoted servant of the Lord ever since.
Tina always strived to achieve all of her goals, academic or otherwise, but still managed to keep life spontaneous and fun. A diligent student, she graduated with honors in 2003. She attended the University of Central Arkansas and obtained a Bachelor of Science. In nine years of service as a nurse, there was no limit to the lives that she touched whether it was those who worked side by side with her or those who graciously accepted her care. Aiming higher still, Tina applied for school to become an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse earlier this year and was looking forward to working with labor and delivery specialists. Her legacy of patience, specialized care, being an ultimate foodie with no flavor combination she wouldn’t try, and stealing others’ snacks will live on.
A warrior to the end, Tina was preceded in death by her mother Teresa Moore; maternal grandfather James “Papa” Nelson; maternal grandmother Charlene “Grandmama” Nelson; her paternal grandfather Wesley Moore, Sr.; paternal grandmother Mariah Dexter; aunt Caroline Fletcher; as well as her sibling Kameka Moore.
She also leaves a beautiful tribe to cherish her life and memory: her husband, Albert Ray Brown, II; daughters Kaitlyn Brown and Brooklyn Brown; her father Wesley Moore, Jr.; brother Michael Moore (Little Rock, AR); sister Mitchelle Moore (Las Vegas, NV); brother Miles Moore (Seattle, WA); sister Amora Robinson (Las Vegas, NV); as well as a host of beloved aunts and uncles including Raquel Dexter; Michael Dexter; Veronica Griffith (Fred); Vera McKissic (Dwight); Vickie Liddell (James); Pearl Hanson (Burnett); Michael Nelson (Shirley), as well as many special cousins, and ride-or-die friends.
The public visitation will be on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The family will greet and receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be shared at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Greater Tate Temple Church of God in Christ with Superintendent Leroy Williams, officiating, and Bishop Frank Anderson, eulogist.
