Kevin Oliver was born on August 25, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of the John Oliver and Dorothy Freeman Oliver Drain. He was the youngest of her two sons. Kevin was baptized at an early age by his grandfather, Rev. Stroy Freeman, the founder of New Friendship M. B. Church in Chicago, Illinois. It was at New Friendship he found hope in Christ as his Savior. He participated in all the youth activities at New Friendship, especially since his grandfather was the Pastor. He graduated from Deneen Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois. He attended and graduated high school from Arkadelphia High. Kevin relocated to Chicago for a short period of time working for his uncle, the late Rev. Harold Freeman, as a real estate agent and manager of Bell Realty Company. Upon returning to Arkadelphia he was hired at Arkadelphia Human Development Center and rose to the position of “Program Supervisor.” Kevin was a mild-mannered, easy going, kind and loveable man. He was a private person and loved to keep to himself. He loved to fish and enjoyed other recreational activities. On Friday, November 8, 2019 God called Kevin from labor to reward. He now rests with Lord and his parents, grandparents and favorite uncle. Kevin leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Michael (Yvonne); Crystal Brittian whom he loved as a sister, nephews Donny (Michelle) Oliver of Spring, TX; nieces Martha Hendrix of Little Rock, AR, Michelle Oliver of Malvern, AR, and Ashley Brittian of Arkadelphia, AR; his aunt Dr. Dolores Freeman of Glenwood, IL; cousins Willie Jarvis, Sam Jarvis, Nola Buford of Chicago, IL, Andrea Freeman of Lynwood, IL and Yvette Freeman of Calumet City, IL, a very close special friend who held a special place in his heart; and a host of cousins, Chicago and Arkadelphia friends and relatives. He will be sorely missed. Submitted by Dr. DoLores Freeman Memorial Service, Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 307 N. 16th Street, Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Rev.
