A Tribute to Keyeon

Keyeon Hopson was a bright light in the lives of those who knew him—his infectious enthusiasm, warm spirit, and unwavering love for family left an unforgettable impact. A proud 2009 graduate of Rockford East High School, Keyeon excelled both academically and athletically, especially in track and field. His dedication, perseverance, and talent shined from an early age.

After high school, Keyeon answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the U.S. Army. During his four years of service, he exemplified honor, discipline, and loyalty, leaving a legacy of commitment and patriotism.

Beyond his professional achievements, Keyeon found his greatest joy in life through his family. Whether gaming, watching sports, or simply enjoying time with loved ones, he embraced life wholeheartedly. Above all, his children, Kennedie Hopson and Za’marion Hopson, were his pride and joy, bringing endless love and happiness into his world.

Having lost his mother at a young age, Keyeon was raised by a village of family members who surrounded him with love, guidance, and support. This strong foundation shaped the remarkable man he became—resilient, kind-hearted, and deeply devoted to those he held dear.

On Monday, March 3, 2025, Keyeon’s journey on this earth ended unexpectedly at Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Hope, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Teresa Grayned-Hopson, his maternal grandparents Shirley Grayned-Barrett and Gene Martin, his patrenal grandparents C.L. and Lurene Hopson.

He leaves behind cherished memories with his father, Gary Hopson; his children, Kennedie and Za’marion; his sisters, Mercedes Hopson, Alesha Hardwick, and Patrice Grayned-Vasanthy (Jithin Vasanthy); his brothers, D’Angelo Hopson and Clementhis Lambert; and his bonus mom, Travis Hardwick. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

A evening with family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Church of Christ, 305 E. Main Street, Prescott, Arkansas.

“I have fought the good fight , I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”.— 2 Timothy 4:7

Though Keyeon’s time here was far too short, his love, laughter,

and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His light will never fade.
