Luther Ray Wilson was born to Leebirtha Rowder and Paul Wilson on May 25, 1946, in Camden, Arkansas. He grew up in Chidester and attended New Scotts Temple COGIC in his early years.
He attended Lincoln High School and owned/operated Wilson Logging Company for many years. He was a simple man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He married Kathy Elliott Wilson on March 23, 1973. He enjoyed church and listening to the teachings of Pastor Gino Jennings. In in spare time he watched and cheered his favorite football team the Pittsburg Steelers. He was most know for his western style of dressing; including hats, boots, belt buckles and blue jeans. He was a true Southern Cowboy.
Luther passed from this life on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at his home. He leaves his wife, Kathy Wilson of Camden, AR; three children, Courtney Jamal Wilson, Solomon (Andrea) Wilson, and Muronda Wilson all of Camden, AR; five grandchildren, two sisters, Joyce Reynaldo of Camden, AR, and Earma Jean Rumley of Milwaukee, WI; and one brother, Rico Rowder of California. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends as well as two special friends, J.L. Ross and Billy Ray Williams.
Pallbearers will be Courtney Jamal Wilson, Solomon Wilson, Dennis Grant, Al Jerome Gulley, Markeo Rector and Elder Jessie Jones. Honorable to mention are J.L. Ross, Billy Ray Williams, Frank McDove and Charles Marks.
