Nathaniel Sims was born on May 3, 1947 to Hattie Bell Williams and Hurdis Dan Sims in Rockford, Illinois. He was raised by Tony Williams who loved him as his own son.
He retired from Armark in Lexington. He enjoyed the simple things that life offered and enjoyed the life he lived.
He passed from this life on Tuesday, January, 4, 2022 at Saint Joseph Hospital on Lexington, Kentucky. Nathaniel was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, Doc and Dora Beasley and Tidwell and Ethel Hollliman Sims; siblings, Calvin Williams, Gladys Tidwell and Navery “Pete” Sims and a grandson, Carl Dewayne Anderson.
Nathaniel leaves the love of his life, Jennie Cotton of Lexington, KY; his children, Rouvenda “Cookie” Sims of Caddo Valley, AR and Nathaniel “Boot” Sims, Jr., of Oklahoma City, OK; his great-grandchildren, Carlia D. Anderson, Dontae Anderson and Kamryn McClanahan; his siblings, Valarie Miller of Rockford, IL, Elizabeth Barnes of Hope, AR, Latasha Armstrong of Danville, KY, Terry Williams of Mansfield, OH and Robert (Dora) Williams of Arlington, TX. HE also leaves s host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Walk-thru visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 pm. at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held at St. Peters Cemetery in Willisville, Arkansas on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at noon with Elder Timothy Davis, officiating. Pallbearers will be Roderrick Grigsby, Eric Grigsby, Terry Williams, Robert Williams, Steve Mack and Armund Davis.
