Ollie Fae McClenton was born July 22, 1935, to Frank and Sally Glenn McClenton. She is the seventh born of twelve children. After a long season of pickling cucumbers, Ms. Ollie decided it was time to leave home and move on to a better way of life. She met and married Mr. “Sonny” Richardson on June 2, 1950; eight children were born to this union. Mrs. Ollie loved to fish, watch Walker Texas Ranger, Wheel of Fortune, basketball and cook. She was well known for her homemade desserts, babysitting the community children, and collecting fashionable hats. She loved going to church and was always fashionably dressed in a hat to match. Her favorite color was purple, and she had an impeccable sense of style. Though Mrs. Ollie never played sports, she and her best friend Minnie Ola Furlow were known as the #1 fans and referees at ALL the Delight Bulldogs basketball games. She was also a die-hard Arkansas Razorback basketball fan and rarely missed a game. She enjoyed talking on the phone with friends and visiting the Senior Adult Center. Mrs. Ollie cooked Sunday dinners for her family; her home was always open to anyone that needed a home-cooked meal. She always said, "It's not much but you are welcome to what I have." Mrs. Ollie was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend to many in her 84 years; we thank God for blessing us with her! Mrs. Ollie was preceded in her passing by her parents, her husband, Sonny Richardson, children, Baby Boy Richardson, David Wayne Richardson and Rita Richardson, and grandson Cory Richardson.
