Quinn Anthony Stephens

Quinn Antony Stephens was born to J.N. and Cleaster “Clea” Stephens on September 6, 1961, at Nevada County Hospital in Prescott, Arkansas. Quinn was known near and far as “Pop”.

Quinn was a 1979 graduate of Gurdon High School where he was the manager of the football team. He was a member of Providence AME Church in Kansas. His first job was in construction in Norphtlet. He worked as a logger for several years and was an employee of Jester Logging.

“Pop” was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was the oldest active member of the Kansas Deer Club. He would go anywhere to find the best fishing spot or most quiet place to hunt. He was fun to be around and often was the center of attention.

He passed from this life on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Baptist Health Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, two uncles and three aunts.

“Pop” will be forever remembered by his parents, J.N. and Clea Stephens; his sister, Janice Brewer of California, and his brother, Rickey (Onia) Stephens of Malvern, AR; his niece, Ercie Purfoy of Hot Springs, AR; nephew, Michael Talton of California, and four great-nieces. He also leaves a special friend, Rouvenda “Cookie” Sims; four aunts, two uncles, cousins, and friends.

There will be no public viewing. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Harris, eulogist. Interment will be at Key Cemetery in the Kansas Community.

Pallbearers will be Quincy Dickens, Harold Dickens, Cameron Dickerson, Kyle Cooper, Aundre Tuggle and Deotis Dickens, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Rickey Stephens, Shafungus Dickens, Kelvin Dickens, Raymond Green, Jr., Randy Dickens and Davion Williams.
