Richard Lockhart

Richard Earl Lockhart was born on July 10, 1973, in Camden, Arkansas. Richard, a lifelong Camden resident who attended Camden High School and graduated in 1991. He was a hardworking individual who contributed to various local establishments, including Max’s, Mad Butcher and Atwoods, where he worked as a stocker and cashier.

Richard was a proud Philadelphia Eagles fan, his loyalty to the team unwavering. He could bring people together with his sense of humor, often organizing barbecues and family gatherings that created lasting memories for all who attended.

Richard passed from this life on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Lockhart, Sr. and Jearlene Holmes Gulley; his bonus father, Cullen Ray Gulley, Sr., his brother, Eric Lockhart (June 16, 2006), and his sister Faith Naomi Lockhart (February 27, 2024).

Richard leaves behind his beloved sisters, Olivia Lockhart of Camden, AR, Dessarae Lockhart of Dallas, TX, and Sharetta Robinson of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother, Jerome Higgs of Fayetteville, AR; bonus sisters and brothers, Stephanie Gulley Moore of Gurdon, AR, Tara (Stanley) McClelland of Gurdon, AR, Cullen Ray Gulley, Jr., of Gurdon, AR, and Joycelyn Gulley of Camden, AR. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Visitation will be from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Williams Funeral Home Van Buren in Camden, Services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson Memorial COGIC with Rev. Ronald Matheny, officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Hebron Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Ced Wade, Jackie McElroy, Terry Wade, Cedric Neal, Pete Lockhart, Justin Fogle, Derrick Brown, and Jeff Leatherwood.
