Services commemorating the life of Ruby Jean Walker Reed will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Antioch Cemetery with Bishop C. L. Thompson, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home Van Buren.
Ruby Jean was born the third child of Cornelius “Junious” and Viola Greening Walker on August 22, 1944, in Stephens, Arkansas. At an early age she confessed her life to Christ and united with Antioch Baptist Church where she served faithfully.
Ruby was a 1962 graduate of Stephens High School. On July 31, 1965, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Charles L. Reed, Sr., and to this union two children were born. They made their home in Camden and united with Zion Hill Baptist Church.
She was a licensed Cosmetologist for 50 years until she retired in 2010. On Monday, June 6, 2022, she passed from this life.
Her love and compassionate spirit will forever be treasured by her husband, Charles L. Reed, Sr., of Camden; one son, Charles L. Reed, Jr., of Shreveport, LA and one daughter Charlotte J. Coe (Jackie) of Forney, TX; four grandchildren, Karmen Reed, Drew Reed, Ashton Coe, and Amariya Coe; one great grandchild, Kealen Reed and a sister, Bernice Lamar of Chidester, Arkansas. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
