Samuel Dale Harrison, affectionately known to friends and family as “Sket”, was a beloved figure in the Sparkman community. He was born in Manning, Arkansas on November 16, 1955, to the union of Emmitt and Laura Hughes Harrison.
A lifelong member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Samuel served as an usher, contributing his time and friendly manner to the church. His love for music was evident as he sang in the Sparkman Male Choir. Samuel ran track and played football during his time at Sparkman High School, showcasing his athletic talents and dedication to sports.
Samuel was known for his frequent wins in dominoes and spades, games that brought out his competitive nature and camaraderie with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, listening to the music of his favorite artist, R. Kelly along with dancing to the melodies. One of his joys was spending time with and helping raise his great-niece Kinslee. Some of his famous quotes were “By Law” “Leaking like a Puerto Rican” “Everything Copasetic” and “You do you and I do me”.
“Sket” had a robust work history, having worked for numerous lumber companies, with his last being at Ray White Lumber Company. Additionally, he spent ten years as a machine operator at the Milwaukee Summer Festivals, a role that allowed him to socialize and meet people.
