Sandra Steward Porchia

“To everything there’s is a season and a time to every purpose under the heavens. A time to be born and a time to die.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

On February 18, 1962 in Shreveport, Louisiana, Oreas Steward Sr. and Willie Mae Steward welcomed the birth of their baby girl, Sandra Steward Porchia.

Sandra was a joyful, loving, caring, giving individual with a smile always on her face. She touched many lives with her inspiration, vision and creativity. Sandra invested quality time with her family and friends.

At a young age, Sandra accepted Christ and became a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, in Louann, Arkansas. Sandra was a 1980 graduate at Fairview High and was a member of the homecoming court. She was a member of the US Army Reserve and employed with General Dynamics for several years and then followed employment at Milbank in El Dorado, Arkansas for 10 years.

Her life and legacy of service will live in the hearts of husband Edward Earl Porchia and her only child Robert L Anderson Jr.; five sisters, Bettye Jones (S.T.) of Biloxi, MS, Sheron Calahan (Terry), Carlon Watkins, Vickie Porchia (Greg) all of Camden, AR and Beverly Arnold of San Antonio, TX; four brothers, Ritchie Steward (Pecola) of Texarkana, AR, Steven Steward (Cassandra) of Camden, AR, Oreas Steward, Jr., and Billy Steward of San Antonio, TX. She also leaves her father and mother-in law, Lonnie and Dorothy Porchia of Camden, AR, as well as, the host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Oreas and Willie Mae Steward and a sister, Renee Steward Vanhook.

Public visitation will be at Williams Funeral Home Van Buren from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2020. Graveside services will be held on at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at New Jerusalem Cemetery, 926 Ouachita Rd 51, Louann, AR with Bishop Jacovis Davis, officiating,
