On Wednesday, August 18, 1937, the Lord loaned his child to Ludie Mae Buggs Robinson and Willie Robinson. They named this curly, red head baby girl Sarah Louise Robinson. When Sarah was six years old, Ludie Mae gained her heavenly wings and left Sarah and her two brothers to be raised by their dad until he met and married Mae Lee Eason.
On Saturday, April 26, 1952, she married Charlie Calvin McDaniel in Manning, Arkansas. After a brief stay in Manning, the couple moved to Okolona, Arkansas and started a family. The Lord blessed them with three daughters and one son.
It was in Okolona where she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and sang in the Adult Choir. We’re going to miss getting that phone call and her singing “Happy Birthday” to all of her kids, grandkids and friends
In 1971, she moved to Prescott, Arkansas and started a new chapter in life. She joined the Munns Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. N. E. Jones (currently Rev. K.L. Jones). She worked many years at Firestone Building Products in Prescott.
Throughout her stay in Prescott, she opened her home to many that didn’t have a place to stay. She was known for her good cooking, her ability to let you know where she stood; just by looking at you, spoiling her grandkids, great grandkids, and her great-great grandkids. She will always be remembered by nicknames, “Lucy” and “Pretty Lady, given by her kids and grandkids. She will also be remembered by the nickname “Foxy Brown” given by her friend, Johnny Cole.
Her hobbies including planting pretty flowers and watching them grow. Her favorite TV shows were “In the Heat of the Night” and “Texas Ranger”. Her favorite songs were “When the Storms of Life is Raging Stand by Me” and “A Change is Gonna Come”.
On Friday, October 1, 2020, the Lord returned and took his child back home. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jasper, Will and Larry Robinson; and a sister, Clara Gwen Perteete.
