Shanndor Monta' Thrower

On June 12, 1977, Ms. Jeanette Thrower welcomed a baby boy with beautiful dark brown eyes who instantly captured her heart. She named him, Shanndora Monta’ Thrower, known to all as "Shawn” and “Shoo.” Shawn departed this life and entered into the arms of his loving Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 in Bearden, Arkansas.

Shawn was an only child, greatly loved by his mother, and growing up in Bearden was blessed to spend a lot of time with his Grandma and Paw-Paw, his aunts, uncles, and many cousins.  Shawn had an infectious smile that could light up any room, and that smile became even brighter, when he welcomed his own son, Za’Kaylen Thrower into the family.

Shawn accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C. D. Stuart.  Shawn was a student of Bearden High School, where he was well-known and loved by all and enjoyed playing basketball and football during his teen years.

Those left behind to cherish many beautiful memories are his loving and devoted mother, Jeanette Thrower Rogers of Bearden, AR; his father, Herman Elander (Pamela) Parham of San Antonio, TX; his son, Za’Kaylen Thrower; a sister, Melinda Ruth of Carthage, AR; one niece, Marshauna Parham; one nephew, Lacedric Ruth; one great-niece, Trinity Watkins; four great-nephews, Tylan Ruth, Kyler Bogy, Adreeyan Robinson and Grayson Ruth; grandparents, Lawrence and Vere Lene Brown of Bearden, AR; and a special cousin, Martika Thrower of Bearden, AR. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, numerous cousins and several friends.  

A walk-through visitation will be shared from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Williams Funeral Home Van Buren in Camden. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Moss Hill Cemetery on Bearden, Arkansas. Due to the COVID-19 virus and the nature of the death, we must insist that no lingering will be allowed after you have paid your respect to the family, we ask that you leave so others may have the chance to enter the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be Gary Anderson, Chris Bullard, Antonio Cook, Nolan Coleman, Corey Craig, Shannon Dawn, David Hudson, Antton Juniel, Montra Morgan, Lavelle Pogue, Ron Robinson, Montreal Shields, Alvis Walston, Brian Wright, James Wright and Terry Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Kentrell Caldwell, Bryant Jackson, Dirk Parham, Michael Parham, Donnovan Robinson, Donald Smith, Reggie Smith, Adrian Thrower, Byron Thrower, Cedric Thrower, Jr., Josh Thrower, Kenny Thrower, Keon Thrower and Steedman Thrower.
