Sherman "Charles" was the 6th child born to Sherman Dickens and Sarah Lowery Dickens on September 21, 1951. At an early age, Charles joined Providence AME Church in Kansas, Arkansas.
He was a 1969 graduate of Bell High School. His favorite sport was basketball and he was a famous well-known fisherman. He loved to barbeque and widely known for making his own sauce; which he wouldn’t dare reveal the ingredients to anyone.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Sarah Dickens and a sister, Mary Jo Broomfield.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one brother, David W. Dickens; four sisters, Laura Bell Green, Clea Ester Stephens, Shirley Dickens and Oneda R. Beavers all of Gurdon, Arkansas. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside services will bat 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Keys Cemetery in Kansas, Arkansas. No public visitation is scheduled.
Pallbearers: Kyle Cooper, Aundra Tuggle, Randy Bell, Johnny Smit, Kiarron Summerville and Bernard Hatley. Honorary Randy Dickens, Quinn Stephens, Ricky Stephens, Raymond Green, Jr. Shafungus Dickens, LJ Green.
