As we retrace the life of Terence Eugene Gulley we can only be thankful for the 50 years he spent with us. He was a strong and fun-loving man. He was blessed to enjoy many of God’s blessings as a son, a brother, father, husband, nephew, uncle, grandfather, cousin, and trusted friend.
Terence “Touche” Eugene Gulley was born Thursday, August 31, 1967, in Prescott, Arkansas to the union of Vernell and Shirley Lewis Gulley. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. As a child he loved to tinker around and would spend countless hours crawfishing in the local creeks.
Terence was a 1985 graduate of Gurdon High School. He busied himself building lasting friendships with other students, faculty and staff. Friends and family alike called him numerous “nicknames” such as "Green Bean", "Fall Back" and "Gear Jammer"...etc. He later attended Job Corps in Guthrie, Oklahoma where he obtained his certification in plumbing, roofing and maintenance. He acquired his CDL license in Little Rock and began his behind-the-wheel training under the direction of Werner Enterprises as a specialized carrier. It was there he began his aspirations of becoming a professional truck driver. By all accounts Terence was a “jack of all trades”, but his ultimate goal was always to return to the big rigs. He was gifted at trying to fix things and figure out how things worked.
Terence loved to fish. That is where he found his peace. He spent countless hours on the banks of the river, either by himself, with his wife and kids, his friend "Chopper" and even his grandsons. He was a man who didn’t mind helping anybody. He enjoyed entertaining, dancing and just having a good time. Terence was the life of the party. One of his greatest joys was spending memorable moments with relatives and friends, both young and old. Terence moved to Little Rock and worked for several different companies. He married Kambria on December 31, 2014. They were blessed with a son, Titus. He united with Compassion Unity Church in Little Rock where Pastor Timothy Brown presides. He was an active and faithful member serving as a deacon.
Family, as well as friends, will miss his smile and love, but will never forget his heartfelt adoration he had for the ones he loved. He passed into the Lord’s embrace on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
