Warnette Hunter
March 26, 1957 – April 3, 2018
On March 26, 1957, Thurman and Shirley Hughes celebrated the birth of Warnette in Fordyce, AR. The family lived in Princeton, AR until 1970 when the family moved to Milwaukee, WI. Warnette attended school in Carthage, AR and completed high school at Rufus King High School in Milwaukee, WI. Warnette returned to Sparkman, AR in 2010. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Unity Gospel House of Prayer, in Milwaukee, under the leadership of Eldridge (Sonny) Lock. Upon returning to AR, Warnette joined the Macedonia Baptist Church in Sparkman, AR under the leadership of Reverend J. L. Newborn.
Warnette was loving, generous, and kind. She was hard-working and loved yard work and being outdoors. Some of her favorite pastimes included cooking, dancing, and singing in the church choir; however, spending quality time with her family and friends was the highlight of her life. Her smile was bright and her laugh was contagious. Warnette never met a stranger and showed love to all people.
On Tuesday, April 3, 2018, surrounded by her family, she passed from this life on Earth into eternity. Her laughter, love and beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Those waiting to welcome her to her eternal home in Heaven are her father, Thurman Hughes (2008); her husband, Lee Andrew Hunter (2014); her brother, Tony A. Hughes (1991); and her sister, Connie Johnson (2017).
She leaves behind her mother, Shirley Hughes and her daughter, Consuella Hunter (George); 4 grandchildren, DeSha’la Jones (Allante), Keano Avery, La’Dayza Spencer (Daniel), and Sydney Wright; 1 great-granddaughter, Kyli’Anna Jones, one god-daughter, Tricia Evans, and two stepchildren, Patricia Hunter and Lee Andrew Hunter Jr., whom she embraced as her own, along with their children.
Warnette is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Larry D. Hughes (Margaret) of Sparkman, AR, Terry L. Hughes (Claudetta) of Arkadelphia, AR, Barbara Hughes (Darrin) of Sparkman, AR, Marcus L. Knox of Gurdon, AR, Dexter L. Knox (Andrea) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Thelton W. Hughes (Gay) of Winter Haven, FL, and Megan T.
