Willie was born July 24, 1949 to Willie Giles, Sr., and Susie Mae Osborn Giles. He was the eldest of nine children. He joined the Army National Guard after graduating from Bell High School in 1967. He was a devoted member of Eastern Star Baptist Church until his health began to fail.
Upon his return he worked for the international Paper Company. In his spare time, he farmed and was widely known for his soy bean fields. A true highlight of his prized soy bean fields was the selection as the Clark County Farm Family of the Year.
June Bug was the family historian and if there was something that one needed to know he definitely had the answer. He was the father of six children with two preceding him in death. He was a loving grandfather, and he lived to see what his grandkids would do or say.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Giles, Sr., and Susie Mae Giles; his sister, Bertha Mae Giles and his sons, Patrick Lee Anderson (2007) and Willie Dwight Giles (1973).
He leaves to cherish his memory children, Donna Giles, Rebekah Giles, Jessica Giles and Alex Lance Moss; his grandchildren, Ravyn Hubbard, Braylon Samuels, Jaylon Anderson, Breyan Samuels, Faith Anderson, KeMya Lewis, Tywann Summerville, Javari Stephens, Cam’ron Giles, Traeh Giles, Nathaniel Moss, Madison Moss and Jayden Stephens; great-grandchildren, Senova Andera and Serenity Critton; siblings, Joe Giles, Ray Giles, Roy Giles, Richard (Andrea) Giles, Diana (David) Quarles, Larry Giles and Marilyn (Dwight) Johnson, as well, as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Joe Giles, Ray Giles, Roy Giles, Richard Giles and Larry Giles. Honorary pallbearers will be Braylon Samuels, Jaylon Anderson, Thomas Muldrow, Jarel Giles, James Giles and Michael Balch.
