Yasmin S. Anthony

August 26, 1990 — October 16, 2024

“Yazzi” as she was affectionately called, was born into this life on August 26, 1990 to Stephanie and Terry in Hope, Arkansas.

Intelligent, shy, and fiercely loyal, she formed lifelong friendships with many classmates at Prescott High School and a special bond with her sisters, Nakia, Jumilya, Karla and step siblings A’shjanai and DQ. She graduated Prescott Class of 2008. Her greatest joy was her son, Eastlin. She forged life while raising him as a single mother but was able to provide for him well beyond the necessities of life, exceeding the equivalent of a two-parent home. She always made it look easy.

Yasmin became a pharmacy technician and later on became a cashier at Family Dollar , while also working at Brentwood Industries. She loved her family, friends, and community which had first inspired her to seek out a well-rounded and fulfilling life.

Yasmin’s name was synonymous with the phrase “social butterfly”. Her energetic personality, her giving nature and her pursuit of the next best thing was a magnet for those who wanted her energy to rub off on them. She was an avid reader and a proven writer. In her spare time, she wrote several short stories and personal memoirs. She enjoyed R&B , blues and gospel music.

Warm, sassy, and always full of life, Yasmin worked hard and played harder. She loved to “go out”, shop and she took pride in maintaining a healthy lifestyle with self-care, working ,coupled with the perfect balance of spoiling her son, Eastlin. She enjoyed Facebook which allowed her to stay connected and encourage others with a beautiful “selfie” and an inspiring quote. She never put an expiration date on her dreams and lived life on purpose.

Yasmin was given the gift of rest on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Although her stay may seem too brief, her life will leave indelible memories with her beloved son, Eastlin Benton of Prescott, AR; her parents, Stephanie Anthony Alexander and Terry (Shalonda) McMorris; 3 sisters, Jumilya (Jujuan) Marks of Gurdon, AR ,Nakia Anthony of Prescott, AR, and Karla McMorris of SanAntonio ,TX . She also leaves several aunts, uncles, nieces; NiYunee, JuKiyah and JuBree; her nephew Jukaden, numerous cousins, a caravan of friends and her three best friends Brittany, Travaro, and Dexter.

Family and friends are asked to wear her favorite color purple to the celebration of life.
