Yolanda Olivia Brown (Yo Yo) was born September 30, 1992, at Ouachita Medical Center in Camden, AR to proud parents Raquel Angela Marlow and Charles David Brown. She was baptized at a young age at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hot Springs, AR and was an active member of the Sunday School class. Yolanda was a 2010 graduate of Hot Springs High School in Hot Springs, AR. She later furthered her education and graduated from Everette’s College Medical Administration Assistance Program in Atlanta, Georgia. She was an active member and volunteer with The MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association). In 2009 she made several appearances on Fox 16 News with anchor Donna Terrell. She worked with other charities including the Salvation Army; she loved being a bell ringer during the holiday season! Yolanda worked at Easter Seals while living in Little Rock, AR and enjoyed making new friends and colleagues. From second grade to her senior year in high school, Yolanda attended summer camp at Camp Aldersgate. Camp Aldersgate provides a fun environment for children with Muscular Dystrophy; Yolanda truly enjoyed the opportunity to be a part of such a great program. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as hanging with her Mom, shopping, going out to eat, and watching her favorite television programs. She loved all of Tyler Perry’s programs as well as Lifetime Movies. Yolanda was very outspoken and by all accounts, she was a fashionista. She loved wearing Baby Phat clothes, anything pink, and getting her hair done in the latest styles. On December 4th, 2019 Yolanda departed this life at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Fannie Marlow (2004). “When I Must Leave You” To my family and friends, I’ve left behind, please don’t shed wild tears, for in your heart I’ll always be here.
